Art. Thank you. Art Department. Thank you. I was chosen to be 1 out of 5 artists from my school to have a piece displayed in Chicago.
The feeling I get in my stomach every time I go to a new show and I see my pieces displayed, I will never be able to put into words. It is a feeling that makes all the time spent perfecting a piece worth it. Although, I did not receive an award for this piece, “Auto-Phobia”, just having it displayed for so many to see, is so beyond worth it.
I fall in love more and more with the city every time I visit. It is unbelievable how inspired I feel when I am around SO many talented artists. I got the chance to meet artists who create with mediums I didn’t even know were possible. Just shows, that there is art in everything. It is what you make of it. Several artists were gracious enough to open their studios for people to view and I cannot describe how beautiful they were. The space, the view, the cluttered canvases, the paint on the floor, the finished paintings displayed on the walls; everything about it made me so incredibly happy. I cannot wait to have my own studio. Right now, my “studio” is my room, but a studio with a view of the city, is a dream, but one day.
One of my favorite things, when going to art shows, is bringing the people that inspire me and have supported me since the beginning. I got to see this beautiful show with my two life long best friends, and I would not trade it for the world. These girls keep me going, through thick and thin. No matter what, they push me to be the best version of myself. I, from the bottom of my heart, would not be who I am without these girls. I love them both dearly.
Thank you Chicago, for being such a beautiful and inspiring show. See you again soon.
